With the Los Angeles Lakers rounding out their roster for the upcoming 2019-20 season, it is now being reported that big man Johnathan Williams is no longer part of the team's plans moving forward:

This does not come as a surprise considering how Williams has already featured for the Houston Rockets in the Las Vegas Summer League. On Sunday, the 6-foot-9 center logged 19 minutes for Houston in a defeat at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers. Williams accounted for four points, six rebounds, a steal, a block, two turnovers, and five fouls during this stretch.

Williams averaged 6.5 points (on 59.1 percent shooting), 4.1 rebounds, and 0.3 blocks in just 15.5 minutes per ballgame. The big man's role for the squad was minimal at best, so this move by the Lakers was pretty much expected.
With the Lakers recently signing former Golden State Warriors big man DeMarcus Cousins on a one-year deal, as well as re-signing JaVale McGee, L.A. appears to be pleased with how its frontcourt is shaping up alongside Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
