The Cleveland Cavaliers opted to buy out Andre Drummond's contract, making him a free agent. Not long after, the Los Angeles Lakers swooped in and brought him on board. This is huge for the Lakers, as they've been struggling in the paint since Anthony Davis was sidelined with an injury. Now, Drummond provides the franchise with a big presence down low, and the roster is improved once LeBron James and Davis come back.

Furthermore, ESPN's Bobby Marks points out how the Lakers can still make another addition:

Considering how aggressive the Brooklyn Nets have been in adding incredible talent to their roster, the Lakers' front office should highly consider bringing in one more player to load up for a deep playoff run. L.A. has a fantastic roster, but in order to compete for the championship this season, the club should add as much talent as possible in order to stack up with the other top teams in the NBA.

With multiple teams improving their rosters right before the trade deadline, the Lakers have to stay alive for just two more months to make the playoffs. Once they're there, they should be fine, as LeBron James and Anthony Davis are two of the very best players in the NBA. Now that they have Andre Drummond, this Lakers squad has an even better chance at repeating their championship performance from a year ago.
