The controversial comments made by LaVar Ball about Luke Walton's grip on the Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most discussed topics around the basketball world lately. The media circus has resulted to a lot of fans taking to their social media accounts to voice out their opinion, bringing a lot of attention to Lonzo Ball's family once again.
With still 2:53 left in the game between the Lakers and Atlanta Hawks, the second-year head coach decided to take Lonzo Ball out of the game for good. When asked why he opted to do so, Walton jokingly said, via ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward, that it's because his father had been saying a lot of things about him.

With the game already decided, Luke Walton brought out his starters and allowed his reserves to see some time on the court. The Lakers were already leading by 20 at that point and there was no need for Lonzo Ball to play, which also helps in avoiding any injury.
The game ended with a score of 132-113, as the 20-year-old former UCLA star flirted a triple-double by recording 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists on the night.
It can be expected that Ball will continue to be the Lakers' starter as his father's comments should not affect the usual playing time he's receiving. However, the situation between his LaVar Ball and Luke Walton is definitely something worth keeping an eye on. It will be very interesting to find out how this situation develops, mostly for entertainment purposes, though.
