The tragic news of the passing of former Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant has affected everybody differently, and everyone has mourned in a different way. For Bryant's former teammate Metta World Peace, he wants the world to honor Bryant by taking a shot at 8:24.

World Peace took to Instagram to announce a toast to the NBA legend, the 8:24 time stamp having significance because of the two jersey numbers Bryant wore throughout his career.

Bryant was involved in a helicopter crash this weekend in Calabasas, California. The incident took nine lives, including Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gigi.

The Black Mamba is undoubtedly one of the best and most influential basketball players of all time. The five-time champion and 12-time All-NBA performer spent all 20 seasons of his career with the Lakers.

World Peace (formerly known as Ron Artest) played with Bryant and the Lakers for four seasons between 2009 and 2013.

Known as a defensive, tough wing, Artest was an integral part of the Lakers' 2010 championship run. That season, the veteran forward averaged 11.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 41.4 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from the 3-point line.

Metta World Peace is just one of many to do something in homage to Kobe Bryant. Several players have changed jersey numbers, written on their shoes and worn certain apparel as respect to Bryant while multiple teams started their most recent games with either an eight-second half-court violation or a 24-second shot clock violation.
