After weeks of speculation, the Los Angeles Lakers have finally acquired big man Andre Drummond. Rob Pelinka, the mastermind behind the move, had some words to say on the latest addition to the already-beefy Lakers roster.

Per Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Pelinka praised Drummond's two-way capabilities. The addition, as always, is to solidify the roster in LA's quest to defend its NBA title.

“Andre Drummond gives us powerful, anchor-point skills on both ends of the court,” Rob Pelinka said. “We feel extremely fortunate to add a player of his caliber and magnitude to our core group at this stage of our journey to defend the NBA title.”

The Lakers-Drummond rumors started way back when the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired big man Jarrett Allen via trade. The Cavs made it clear that they intend to move forward with the young big man, which placed an immediate question mark on Drummond's future with the Ohio-based team.

Fans made up a bunch of scenarios on how the Lakers can acquire the two-time All-Star via trade. Some imaginary packages included the likes of Dennis Schroder and Kyle Kuzma. But when the trade deadline passed without the Lakers making any moves, some fans were understandably disappointed. They know that Drummond, especially given the injuries to Anthony Davis and LeBron James, would give the Lakers that much-needed heft.

Now, the Lakers fans' wish has been granted. They'll likely get their first peek at Drummond donning the legendary Purple & Gold jersey on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
