Russell Westbrook isn't oblivious to the outside noise sounding off on his potential exit. When it's been as loud as it has been, it's hard to imagine him missing all the rumors and reports of the Los Angeles Lakers being keen to swap him with Kyrie Irving and reunite LeBron James with his former co-star.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, a Russell Westbrook-shaped “conundrum” could be brewing if an Irving trade doesn't materialize before the start of training camp.

Russ has heard the noise about trade talks and it could create a conundrum if Irving isn't traded by training camp. Russ is a strong minded person and will do his best to play better if it so happens that he's still on the team, but it will create intense awakardness behind the scenes.

With the arrival of new Lakers coach Darvin Ham, there was talk of trying to make things work with Westbrook after a tumultuous first season in Los Angeles. But with the Kyrie Irving option sprouting when it didn't seem remotely possible months back, that's reportedly where LeBron's head is at with the situation.

Stein says both LeBron and Kyrie want the reunion “badly”, and that Russ returning to the Lakers would be an untenable situation because of all of the noise of trade talks.

Russell Westbrook has a revenge season on his mind after getting a ton of heat last season. Whether that's on the Los Angeles Lakers or on another team remains to be seen.
