The NBA is a weird place. It’s where products of barbershop talk, as ridiculous as they may sound, can turn into a reality several months or a couple of years later. Back in 2016, bringing up the idea of Kevin Durant joining the Golden State Warriors was extremely laughable; and then he did. However, even at this point in the history of the league, saying that Durant will join forces with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James next year is still something that can be considered a silly notion.
But that’s exactly what Skip Bayless of Fox Sports is saying, via George Mills of Express.co.uk.
Article Continues BelowSpeaking on yesterday’s edition of Undisputed, NBA expert Skip Bayless suggested that help could be on the way next summer with Durant expected to give serious consideration to the thought of heading south along the coast to join James in Los Angeles.
“I was told by a source very close to Kevin that LeBron did check in with him this year because he was free, he was a free agent,” Bayless said.
“I was also told that Kevin is open to listening next year depending on what happens.

Having said that, it’s true that there’s a possibility that KD and LeBron will team up next year. Durant signed a two-year deal with a 2019 player option with the Warriors last July, meaning he can opt out and go somewhere else to continue his Hall-0f-Fame-bound career.
After whiffing on their chances to bring Kawhi Leonard and Paul George this summer, the Lakers can resume hunting for another superstar in next year’s free agency period.
