It's been another disappointing night for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday, as the team suffered yet another loss, this time at the hands of the Phoenix Suns at home, 108-90. Apart from the fact that the Lakers have now gone winless in their last three games and that they have now slid back to .500, there's also another item for their fans to feel very concerned about.
Via ESPN Stats & Info:
After their loss to the Suns on Tuesday, the Lakers are 16-16 this season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, no NBA champion has been .500 or worse more than 20 games into a season.

Uh oh.
But one doesn't really need a stat like that to realize that the Lakers are in a bad shape right now. Even though James is playing elite basketball, his effort is certainly not enough to get the team out of its current rut. In fact, the four-time league MVP has averaged 27.7 points on 54.7 percent shooting from the field, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in the last three games. Of course, the Lakers are dealing with numerous issues on the availabilities of their players, mostly because of COVID-19-related issues. That's not to mention the long-term absence of Anthony Davis due to a knee injury.
It's not too late for the Lakers to defy the odds and silence their detractors, though. It's still too early to write them off, considering that they have the stars to lead them to another title parade in Hollywood.
