Russell Westbrook's future is unclear at the moment. As of now, he is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. But there are a number of trade rumors in reference to the Lakers' guard. Most people in the NBA world believe LA would prefer to trade him. But dealing away his massive contract is easier said than done.

We've heard all of the trade rumors. We are well aware of his 2021-2022 struggles. But what is it that Russell Westbrook wants for the upcoming NBA campaign?

ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski AKA Woj shared the following information in reference to Westbrook's desires for the 2022-2023 season, via Talkin' NBA on Twitter.
Article Continues Below“In my conversations with Russell Westbrook in this offseason, I think as much as anything, he wants to be wanted,” Woj said.
Woj went on to explain how Westbrook has built a relationship with Lakers new head coach Darvin Ham. The duo have reportedly been working on ways to utilize Westbrook should he remain with the Lakers this year.
“So I think Russell Westbrook… he wants to have success in LA,” Woj added. “This is his fourth team in four years… he doesn't want to bounce around every year.”
Russell Westbrook has certainly bounced around over the past few years. Settling down in LA with the Lakers makes sense. However, he has to earn LA's trust once again following last year's disastrous output. The Lakers need to feel confident that Westbrook can help lead them to a championship.
Otherwise, they will continue to explore trade options for him.
