Julius Randle received a sweet gift from his wife for Father's Day. And it might be a hint at his potential team moving forward.

As posted by Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen & Roll, Randle got the gift of a painting of himself holding up his son, both of whom are in Lakers gear.

Randle has been involved in trade rumors all season long, and even up until now, in the off season. He actually spoke about the speculation on “The Woj Pod with Adrian Wojnarowski,” noting that players don't really have control over such things. In all honestly, they just laugh about it. What they can control is their play on the court:

Not weird. Honestly, I felt like everybody felt it was funny. It was, like, jokes. Constantly. Nobody ever took any report or anything that was coming out, being said, seriously. We weren’t focused on it. Part of being a player, you realize really quickly you only have so much you can control. You can’t control being in trade talks. You can’t control contract negotiations. You can only control that with your play.

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka did not outrightly answer what their plans for Randle will be. He noted that negotiations are taking place. And ultimately, they want a partnership. Per Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, Pelinka said:

“I think going into a process with kind of a position of entrenchment or here's the thin red line that we will not cross isn't necessarily the best way to approach something with an open-mindedness,” Pelinka said. “I think any negotiation is between two sides. Ultimately you're hoping to find a partnership.”
