New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis has reportedly requested a trade, and if the Los Angeles Lakers want to acquire AD, they will likely have to part ways with second-year point guard Lonzo Ball.

Sensing that Ball's time in Los Angeles could be coming to an end, Lonzo Ball and his camp prefer to be traded to a third team which doesn't have an established point guard, should the Lakers and Pelicans start talking about an Anthony Davis trade — according to Shams Charania of The Atheltic:

Lonzo Ball is currently sidelined with a left ankle sprain. The former No. 2 overall pick is expected to be out four-to-six weeks.

In 47 games this season, Lonzo Ball is averaging 9.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 32.9 percent from beyond the arc and 41.7 percent from the free-throw line. He has four double-doubles and one triple-double on the season.

The Pelicans start Elfrid Payton at the point guard position and Jrue Holiday at the shooting guard spot. If Ball got traded to New Orleans, he would probably come off the bench. It appears Ball's camp isn't on board with that, hence why they would prefer for a third team to get involved.
