The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly believe they're in the lead to land Kawhi Leonard because of recruiting efforts and assurances made on separate fronts from Magic Johnson and LeBron James, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Leonard reportedly met with Johnson this past weekend and has been in touch with James. The two-time Finals MVP will pick between the Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors.

The franchise has Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Pascal Siakam and proved to Leonard this past season they can build a championship roster around him and manage his health during the regular season.
