The Los Angeles Lakers' season is now a lost cause. They're already eliminated from the playoffs and their top players, led by LeBron James, have been shut down. But that doesn't mean they can't find anything to cheer about — enter Alex Caruso.

Friday night featured a battle of Los Angeles as the Lakers and L.A. Clippers faced off at the Staples Center. In what many anticipated as a ho-hum affair, Caruso came crashing down from the planet Krypton to register a career night.

The second-year man tallied 32 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block, and five 3-pointers in 38 minutes of action to lead the Lakers in their win over the Clippers, 122-117.

His stat line was very LeBron-like and the four-time MVP was blown away by the type of performance his teammate put up. As evident in the video below, Caruso's big-time shots got the Lakers pumped up from the bench — air guitars and all.

Over the past four games, Caruso has been averaging 19.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.3 steals on a scorching 73% from 3-point distance, making Stephen Curry look like Ben Wallace shooting free-throws. He is earning $77,250 this season but stretches like this certainly helps his case for getting paid in the near future.

The Lakers now hold a record of 36-44 with two games remaining on the season. As of this writing, they also own the 10th best odds in landing Zion Williamson.
