Since his introduction as a confident sports father, LaVar Ball has been one of the most vocal personalities hovering around the NBA perimeter. While many of his supporters dub him as a marketing genius and an excellent father, his critics label him as a narcissist who loves the spotlight and uses his sons as a platform for his own game.

Though, regardless of anyone's opinion of the Ball family patriarch, he has made a lasting impression on the NBA. That is mainly because of his unusual comments towards his sons, NBA staff, and himself.

A few weeks ago, Ball criticized Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton for being inexperienced and young, even going as far as to say that none of the players wanted to play for him, per ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

“You can see they're not playing for Luke no more. Luke doesn't have control of the team no more. They don't want to play for him. “That's a good team,” he added of the Lakers, who have lost nine straight games. “Nobody wants to play for him. I can see it. No high-fives when they come out of the game. People don't know why they're in the game. He's too young. He's too young. … He ain't connecting with them anymore. You can look at every player, he's not connecting with not one player.”

On Wednesday, Ball made an effort to defend his comments on Walton's coaching, stating that the Lakers should be thanking him for sparking the team for their recent success.

It is not clear how the Lakers will respond to this comment from Ball — if they decide to at all — but the proud father has made it known that he intends to express his opinion regardless of how much backlash he receives from the media and the NBA.
