Like a baby's first step, solid food, and whatnot, LeBron James' set of firsts in a Los Angeles Lakers jersey are events that are all worth noting. The hype is real and James is building his new kingdom under the bright lights of Hollywood.
So when the four-time MVP managed to hammer down his first slam dunk in purple and gold, flickers of camera flashes almost drowned the surreal moment for Lakers fans.
It all happened early in the game. After a broken play by the Denver Nuggets, James found himself in the right place for the rebound and went coast-to-coast like the freight train he is, taking off at the circle near the free throw area, to bring down the thunder at Staples Center.

LeBron James played 15 minutes in the first half, tallying 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block. Being just a preseason game, James is likely done for the night but he made a good account of himself in limited time.
Highlights such as this one will be aplenty once the real games start tipping off and Lakers fans are about to be treated to a whole new experience courtesy of James.
The Lakers are expected to crack the playoffs this season with the three-time NBA champion leading an intriguing mix of colorful veterans and young talent.
