On Wednesday night, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James made history by surpassing the great Michael Jordan for fourth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

There was a whole lot of love going around Staples Center, and without a doubt, every single person in attendance gave LeBron due recognition for his amazing achievement. Hip-hop artist 2 Chainz was one of the members of the audience who witnessed the historic feat, and as a show of appreciation, the rapper decided to hand over one of his chains to James:

It's a good thing 2 Chainz had more than a of couple chains hanging around his neck this evening. Otherwise, it would have been quite an awkward situation. If he only had one piece of neck jewelry left, would he then revert to being called 1 Chain?

In all seriousness, though, LeBron was obviously very appreciative of the warm gesture from the rapper who he had recently worked with on his latest album. However, it was also clear that James wanted to get out of the playing court as soon as he possibly could, considering how his night ended on a sour note.

While he did make history on the evening, it was another frustrating defeat for the Lakers, who went down to the Denver Nuggets, 115-99. This marked a fourth consecutive defeat, as LA's playoff hopes continue to lose steam. It was a great night for LeBron individually, but for the Lakers, things just continue to get from bad to worse.
