Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James has been making sure to use his platform to inform his fans on the importances of voting in this upcoming election.
That message must of set well with his mother, who made sure to reach out to James shortly after she voted this week.
The Lakers champion sat down in a virtual video chat with former President Barack Obama on āThe Shop: Uninterruptedā to talk about how imperative it is to vote while detailing his mom's experience in voting recently.
āMy mom sent me a video today of her voting actually,ā stated an emphatic James to Obama during the video. āShe was so proud of herself, and I was proud of her.ā
āYou tell her I'm proud of her,ā Obama cut in jokingly. āYou tell her Barack and Michelle give her much love and respect for that.ā
With time dwindling down ahead of Election Day on Nov. 3, multiple athletes such as James will continue to reach out to their respect fanbases in chances of increasing the voter turnout at the polls.
The Lakers star has been a huge voice in recent months to push people, especially young people, to register to vote and make sure they cast their ballot in advance or on Nov. 3.
