During the Summer League tournament game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers, LeBron James was in attendance to once again stir the pot of rumors.
Article Continues BelowIn the last several weeks, there has been prevalent chatter that James could entertain the thought of leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers next summer in free agency to join the Lakers. According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, LaVar Ball made another pitch to the four-time league MVP to make the jump to Los Angeles to play alongside his son Lonzo Ball.
Lonzo Ball has certainly already made a strong enough impression on James to go watch Wednesday's Summer League action, and he put on quite an impressive performance. The 19-year-old had a near triple-double with a game-high 36 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds along with five steals in the thrilling 103-102 win.
If James were to indeed consider the Lakers, Ball will be a major part of that pitch as his play in his rookie season would have to show much promise for what could lie ahead. The former UCLA product possibly gave a glimpse of what may come by showcasing his special passing ability and court vision against the 76ers with several impressive assists that were right on target to his teammates.
If Ball can help the Lakers drastically improve next season and show reason for much promise, this conversation surrounding James could take a serious turn.
