In the last few months, LaVar Ball has become a prevalent face in the sports media world that could be fairly argued as being more publicly known than his own son, Lonzo Ball, at this point in time.

His constant presence in the Los Angeles media scene has become a topic of discussion in its own right because of the belief that he may become a hindrance to his son's NBA future. Throughout much of this talk, there hasn't been much said from Lonzo about the situation.

In a recent piece in the LA Times, Lonzo was quoted back in April stating that he doesn't see his dad's presence as a distraction and doubled down on that notion by voicing that he doesn't want him to change one bit.

“It’s funny for me,” Lonzo said in April. “I just look at it and laugh. I know how he’s been since Day 1, it’s just that now all of America gets to see him because he’s on the TV all the time. I know he loves exposure, so it’s good for him and I just hope he stays the same. I don’t want my dad to change.”

The stance that Lonzo is taking shouldn't come as much of a surprise. For as much slack as LaVar has received, there should be recognition for how he has raised his children and put them in the spotlight. However, where the problem lies for many is his numerous outlandish statements that have given off the belief that he could become an issue down the line during his son's NBA career.

That said, Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka and team president Magic Johnson have stated that they have no problem with LaVar's parenting and don't believe it would cause them to avoid selecting Lonzo if he were to be still available at the second overall pick.

There may be much to say about LaVar's continued antics, but at this point, there clearly isn't much concern about it.
