Despite showing a good amount of support for fellow Maryland native Markelle Fultz prior and after the NBA Draft, Kevin Durant has rolled with Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball as his cornerstone talent in NBA 2K18's MyGM mode.
The Finals MVP told Bill Simmons during a Q&A session in The Bill Simmons Podcast (listen at the 22:45 mark) that he traded for the No. 1 pick in the draft and used it to select Ball with it.

I traded for the No. 1 pick, I got Lonzo Ball and he's the starting point guard for me.”
Durant oddly picked UNC, the school he almost committed to before picking the University of Texas, where he played out his freshman season before declaring for the NBA.
While this is only a game and being 16 seasons into MyGM mode could likely mean he already has a go-to scorer in the roster, many feel the Lakers would have done the same thing if they had ended up with the No. 1 pick after the NBA Draft Lottery.
