Before the 2018-19 NBA season began, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was the heavy favorite to win the MVP award.
After the first 10 games of the season, James' odds to win his fifth MVP have already dropped to +750
According to BetOnline.ag, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo now has the best odds to win the MVP award at +200. New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis is second at +450, while Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry and Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard are tied at +500.
LeBron James and the Lakers have gotten off to a poor start. The team is just 4-6 through its first 10 games and giving up a whopping 120.0 points per game, which ranks 27th in the league.

The Lakers, however, are in 11th place in the Western Conference. To win the MVP award, you have to put up gaudy stats while also leading your team to wins.
Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are 8-1, Leonard has guided the Raptors to a 9-1 start, Curry and the defending champion Warriors are 9-1, and Davis and the Pelicans are 4-5. There's still a long season ahead for LeBron James to recapture the top spot in the MVP odds, but The King and the Lakers are going to have to play better and win some games.
