In the first-round NBA playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony are matched up against one another. Their good friend Dwyane Wade loves every single minute of it so far.
On Twitter, Wade expressed his excitement seeing his two friends go at it.
Melo and Bron guarding each other… I love it!

James plays the point guard spot for the Lakers. As such, Anthony — who's the only one who can match up with him in terms of size — has been picking up James on both ends of the floor.

Of course, James and Anthony are very familiar with one another, not only in the NBA. Their battles go way back to high school when James was playing for St. Vincent-St. Mary and Anthony for Oak Hill Academy. They even battled each other in the finals with Anthony guiding Oak Hill for the win.
In the professional ranks, while they have faced each other numerous times in the regular season, this is just their second time meeting in the playoffs. Their first one was in the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. James, donning the Miami Heat jersey back then, booted out Anthony and the New York Knicks in five games. James went on to claim his first NBA title that year.
While the odds favor Lebron James and the Lakers in this series, one can never count out the Blazers. After all, they have the scorching hot Damian Lillard in the fold. Moreover, Carmelo Anthony himself has experienced a resurgence at this point in his career.
NBA fans, as well as Dwyane Wade, are pumped for this matchup between the two star forwards. It remains to be seen how the series will pan out, but it is already brewing to be on of the most exciting showdowns in the bubble.
