Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry expects LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to “regroup” next season.

James is missing the playoffs this season for the first time since his second season in the league when he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coming into 2018-19, LeBron had been to eight-straight NBA Finals, the last four coming against Curry and the Warriors.

“It's different, but what is it? [Eight] straight Finals he went to?” Curry said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “I'm sure it's a different experience for him, for better or worse.

“Obviously the rest of the league continues to go, a lot of talent, a lot of great storylines, people chasing championships,” Curry said. “But he's had an amazing run. Pretty sure he'll be able to reset for next year and regroup.”

James suffered the worst injury of his career on Christmas Day against Curry and the Warriors. The King strained his left groin and missed 17 consecutive games.

The Lakers went just 6-11 during that stretch without LeBron and fell out of the playoff race.

The Warriors, meanwhile, have been cruising along just fine and are favored to win their third-straight championship in June. If that happens, Curry and the Dubs will have four rings in five years.
