Being sidelined with an injury is difficult for any player. However, Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic does not even have the luxury of being able to sit with his team during games.

Vucevic has been nursing a fractured left index finger he suffered against the Washington Wizards nearly two weeks ago. Since then, he has been forced to watch Orlando struggle from a distance so that he is not at risk for further injury while on the bench. Needless to say, being unable to communicate with his teammates has been one of the most frustrating aspects of his current designation, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel

“It’s very hard,” Vucevic said. “Sometimes when you watch the game, you’ll see something that happens and you’re like, ‘Man, I wish I was out there. Maybe I would’ve been able to help in any way.’ Or I could try to say something or anything. It’s not easy. You try to stay involved as much as you can.”

It goes without saying that a key player can still make an impact by offering advice to teammates throughout the duration of a game. At this point, the Magic could certainly use all the help they can get after losing 12 of their last 13 games. However, it seems Orlando is not willing to chance a potential collision on the sidelines involving their starting center.

That said, things were not much better when Vucevic was playing. However, he has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disastrous year for the Magic.
