After undergoing arthroscopic surgery last March to repair a meniscus tear in his knee, Memphis Grizzlies‘ forward Chandler Parsons is finally ready to make his debut for his new team and will play earlier than scheduled.

It was expected that he'll play his first game of the season on Tuesday but has now been bumped to Sunday after a very good workout

The 28-year-old Florida product discussed how he's feeling and could not contain his excitement to play once again after a long road to recovery.

Per Tim MacMahon of ESPN:

“Felt great in workout. I'm ready to rock. No reason to wait.”

Parsons signed a four-year, $94 million max contract last summer and saw his team take a cautious approach on him as they wanted to preserve his health as the season progresses. Now that he's ready to play, the Grizzlies expect him to contribute by providing outside shooting as well as give them a lot of versatility as he has the ability to play multiple positions.

The 6-foot-10 forward owns impressive career averages of 14.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 29.1 minutes per game. But despite his numbers, he has been very prone to injury and has only played more than 70 games in a season twice in his five-year career.

Now that he is with the Grizzlies, he'll definitely look at it as a good opportunity for him to prove to everyone that he is one of the better small forwards in the league and that he is worthy of his hefty paycheck.
