The Memphis Grizzlies announced an official partnership with transportation network company Uber, leveraging technology and ensuring their fans a safe ride to and from Grizzlies games and FedExForum events, including added perks and promotions for those using the app.

The San Francisco-based company will become the team’s official ride-sharing partner, and beginning tomorrow, will become the main sponsor of the Grizzlies’ ‘Game Day Live’ livestream.

In addition to that, fans that request an Uber with the destination “FedExForum” will see promotions via the app for discounted offers from Bleu Restaurant at the Westin Memphis Beale Street, located in front of the venue.

“We’ve always taken a ‘fans-first’ approach in the way we manage Grizzlies games and FedExForum events, ensuring that our fans experience the utmost in safety and customer service,” said Jason Wexler, Grizzlies president of business operations in the press release. “By partnering with Uber, we’re offering our fans a safe and reliable ride to and from the arena, and encouraging a socially responsible means of transportation through the ride-sharing concept.”

The Milwaukee Bucks announced a very similar partnership with Uber in September.

As an added benefit of the Grizzlies' new partnership, all new riders with Uber will be able to receive $15 off their first ride to or from a Grizzlies game by entering the code “GRINDCITY”.
