The Memphis Grizzlies came out with a valiant stand as they narrowly lost to a more talented Utah Jazz team on Friday night. Sophomore star Ja Morant led the team's resilient fightback as he managed to make impressive plays in the paint despite the stifling presence of Jazz big man Rudy Gobert.
Despite the lack in size, the 21-year-old point guard still notched 32 points, 11 assists, and four rebounds. One of his many highlight plays in the game included a no-look bounce pass in the paint which went to the way of Jonas Valanciunas who scooped the easy lay-in.

After the game, Morant revealed that he got the confidence to attack the paint due to his fearlessness against his opponents on the floor. Regardless of who is blocking his way, he will still continue to find ways to make plays for himself and his teammates.

“I fear God,” Grizzlies star Ja Morant said. “I don’t pay attention to who’s in front of the rim.”
Unfortunately, the Grizzlies ultimately lacked firepower as they succumbed to a 117-114 loss against the Jazz. Their latest loss pulled them back to a 21-21 record for the ninth spot in the Western Conference.
Certainly enough, Ja Morant has been making countless dazzling highlights on the floor as of late. However, he would need to go above and beyond his usual craftiness as he tries to lead his team to more wins for the remainder of the season. Morant's fearlessness on the floor will certainly be a valuable asset for him and the rest of his Grizzlies squad as they seek a playoff spot this season.
