Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol has been put on the trade block along with his franchise partner Mike Conley Jr., and while it's tough to endure the swirling rumors, the 7-foot-1 behemoth still sees the fun on playing what if he was traded for his brother Pau Gasol.

“I know, that’s pretty crazy, this whole ride there has been a Gasol at the Media Day at least,” Gasol said, according to Geoff Calkins of The Daily Memphian. “That’s pretty impressive. My son is only two… But maybe I’ll get traded to San Antonio and Pau comes back, who knows? That would be kind of funny. There’s a part of me that would like that. He still has a place here, the same place, my parents live in it. My parents have been here the whole ride.”

Pau was the cornerstone of the franchise for the early part of the 2000s, which allowed Marc to attend high school in Memphis and get accustomed to life in the United States as the family moved from Barcelona after the former was drafted with the third overall pick in 2001.

Fast forward six-plus seasons and Pau was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for his brother Marc, who was selected by the Lakers in the 2007 NBA Draft but was still playing basketball overseas. After 39 games, Pau traded Grizzlies garb for purple-and-gold, setting up two championship seasons in his future.

Marc would start his rookie season in 2008, continuing the Gasol tradition, which has now run for 18 straight years in Memphis.

A trade to the San Antonio Spurs would make this go full circle, as Pau would be able to make his last hurrah where it all started while Marc gets a chance to play a role for a contender.
