The Memphis Grizzlies finally got their first win of the 2019-20 NBA season thanks to a heroic buzzer-beater from Jae Crowder against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.

The youth-laden squad will be looking to make it two in a row but will be in for a tough task as they take on LeBron James and the of the reinvigorated Los Angeles Lakers squad on Tuesday.

Speaking to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell pre-game, new Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins acknowledged the difficult assignment ahead of his team.

“Obviously the Lakers are one of the best teams in the league … they’re going to test us,” he shared, adding that aside from the clear threat of LeBron and AD, LA’s stifling defense will pose a lot of problems.

Boasting an intimidating frontcourt of Davis, Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee, the Lakers average a league-best eight blocks per contest after three games (tied with the Denver Nuggets).

Memphis’ interior can hold its own as well as they average 7.7 rejections, but the team will need to come up with a consistent defensive effort from all positions, in order to stop the Lakers’ well-oiled offense.

The Grizzlies will once again bank on their second overall of this year’s draft Ja Morant, who finally displayed his wares in the team’s last victory over Brooklyn. The 20-year-old rookie took over in crunch time and executed big time plays on both ends of the floor in the final canto.

The Lakers, meanwhile, look to have found their stride after their opening day loss to the Clippers.

The team bounced back with two impressive wins against the Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets.
