Memphis Grizzlies big man Marc Gasol decided to pay a little visit to the Minnesota Timberwolves during their matchup on Wednesday night, plopping down on the Timberwolves' bench during the first quarter.
It's not clear what was going on here or why Gasol decided to join Anthony Tolliver and Co. for a quick conversation. Was he trying to find out strategy? Was he making dinner plans? Does he want to get traded to the Timberwolves?
Either way, Minnesota's bench seemed to enjoy it, even though most of the players probably had no idea what he was trying to do.
Anyway, Gasol entered Wednesday evening's action averaging 15.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals over 33.7 minutes per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the floor, 35.6 percent from three-point range, and 75.7 percent from the free-throw line.

While Gasol is still unquestionably a very productive player, he is earning $24 million this season, making him a very difficult salary to match. Not only that, but he has a $25.6 million player option for next year, and based on the fact that Gasol may never see that type of money in any single season ever again, there is a possibility that he picks up the option.
Is there a team out there willing to potentially pay the 34-year-old that much money in 2019-20? It remains to be seen.
