Since his arrival in Miami, Goran Dragic has not been able to play alongside Chris Bosh as much as he’d hoped when he signed with the Heat two years ago. Bosh recently failed a medical, ruling him out of basketball related activity once again.

Due to Bosh’s unfortunate, ongoing health complications, Dragic will be expected to take on a more prominent leadership role this year, especially after the loss of Dwayne Wade in free-agency.

Dragic spoke to Fox Sports on Saturday, expressing his regret that Bosh will not be starting the season with him but reassuring the fans that they can survive even without the 11-time All-Star.

”I feel for Chris,” Dragic said. ”This is real. We are playing basketball. And unfortunately, he cannot do that right now. I wish him all the best. But we already survived without a lot of key players, so hopefully we can do it this year.”

Bosh currently finds himself in a difficult scenario. At the age of 32, he is being advised not to step on the court due to ongoing complications from blood clots. As the matter is so serious, he is being advised to treat his afflictions with caution but is hopeful for a return.

”I was just disappointed, sad,” Dragic said when asked about Bosh’s medical. ”There was a lot of emotions involved. But it is what it is. I'm here to work. I'm here to play basketball. Of course, we wish him all the best.”

The organization hopes that Dragic will be able to play with his teammates at some point this season as the entire basketball community wishes Chris Bosh a speedy recovery.
