The Miami Heat swung a deal to acquire Andre Iguodala, Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill from the Memphis Grizzlies just ahead of the NBA trade deadline this week, sending Justise Winslow, James Johnson and Dion Waiters to the Grizzlies in return.

Iguodala has not played at all this season, as he was sent to Memphis from the Golden State Warriors in a salary dump this past summer and refused to actually suit up for the young Grizzlies.

On Friday, the veteran said that he feels like his game “translates anywhere” and that he hopes to play “very soon,” according to Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun Sentinel.

The Heat also signed Iguodala, who is making $17.1 million this season, to a two-year, $30 million extension with a team option for the 2021-22 campaign as part of the deal.

Iguodala had spent the last six years with the Warriors, helping Golden State reach five straight finals and win three championships between 2015 and 2019. He also took home a Finals MVP award in 2015.

The 36-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Arizona, was originally selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the ninth overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft.

He spent the first eight seasons of his career with the 76ers, making one All-Star team before being traded to the Denver Nuggets during the summer of 2012.

Iguodala resided in the Mile High City for just one year before being dealt to the Warriors in a sign-and-trade deal.

The Heat are 34-16 and sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
