Andre Iguodala is still getting settled into his new team and role with the Miami Heat. The 36-year-old wing has only played seven games this season and as a result, the former All-Star's -5.4 plus/minus stat from this season leaves much to be desired.
Per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has taken it upon himself to defend Iguodala's critics, especially those attacking his poor plus/minus stats from this season.
Spoelstra on Andre Iguodala's poor plus/minus: "You can see the versatility he brings on both ends of the court." Says veteran forward still working his way back. Says he still sees winning plays.

Iguodala was traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Memphis Grizzlies last summer but the veteran refused to play for a rebuilding team in Memphis. As a result of not suiting up for the team, Memphis dealt Iguodala to Miami at the NBA trade deadline in exchange for Justice Winslow.

At 36 years old, Iguodala naturally is no longer the All-Star caliber player he once was. In his seven games with Miami, the 6-foot-6 wing is averaging a career-low 4.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. At the same time. Iguodala is shooting an efficient 48.1 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from deep.
Also of note, the Heat as a whole have struggled as of late losing seven of their last 10 games and slipping to the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
