Despite an infamous quote in a magazine by a then-23-year-old Jimmy Butler, you can now expect to see him wearing a Miami Heat jersey.
The Heat acquired Butler in a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, which also included the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers to complete a four-team deal. Miami is excited to sign the former Most Improved Player winner and Texas native, who will no doubt raise the team's ceiling after missing the playoffs last season.
Butler was complimentary of Miami's organization.
Per Ira Winderman in the South Florida Sun Sentinel:

Butler also praised former Chicago Bulls teammate and recently retired shooting guard Dwyane Wade, who will no doubt be enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
“Not to mention that one of my best friends and a brother in Dwyane Wade did a lot for this organization and is an amazing player. So he may have had a little bit of something to do with it, as well. He would always say, ‘It would be a place for you. The type of guy you are, the mentality you have, the Heat culture, it just fits.' We laugh about it now, but looking back it's like, damn, he kind of called how it could happen and how this would be a place that just fits me to a tee.”
Butler is an eight-year NBA veteran and four-time All-Star.
