The Heat lost to the Clippers at Staples Center. They are now 34-16 on the season, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Butler has appeared in 44 games for the Heat this season. He's averaging 20.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists while shooting 45.2 percent from the field, 25.5 percent from beyond the arc and 83.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Butler was voted as an All-Star reserve last week. He's now a five-time All-Star. The 30-year-old will be joined in Chicago by Bam Adebayo, who is making his first All-Star appearance.
Heat rookie Tyler Herro, sharpshooter Duncan Robinson and high-flyer Derrick Jones Jr. will be in Chicago too. Herro is in the Rising Stars Challenge, Robinson is in the 3-point contest and Jones is in the dunk contest.

Butler will undergo an MRI on his shoulder on Friday. The Heat don't believe it's a serious injury.
