Miami Heat rookie swingman Kendrick Nunn is off to quite the start in Wednesday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Nunn has 20 points and is a perfect 8-of-8 from the field (including 4-of-4 from deep) at the half.

Nunn led all scorers as the teams entered the beak deadlocked at 51 apiece.

The 24-year-old is just one of the many players experiencing somewhat of a renaissance in Miami. Nunn had been a G League mainstay prior to signing with the Heat last April. However, he would still have to wait for his opportunity as he looked for some staying power entering the 2019-20 season.

Nunn wasted little time making an impact as an unprecedented starter, scoring 24 points in his NBA debut. In fact, Nunn scored at least 17 points in each of his first five games with the Heat.

Not only had he earned a spot in the NBA, but Nunn also cemented his place as a critical rotational player for a Heat team that has since defied preseason expectations. The Chicago native entered Wednesday's game averaging 15.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest

While Tyler Herro was the rookie drawing all the headlines and notoriety during the preseason, Nunn is making his claim as the best rookie in South Beach. Apparently, he is in the mood once again.

Nunn has not been the most efficient of perimeter scorers, shooting just over 33 percent from beyond the arc for the season. But, as the saying goes: feed the hot hand. Nunn is certainly feeling it on Wednesday night.
