Miami Heat superstar Bam Adebayo stole the show on Sunday as his team played host to the feisty Brooklyn Nets. The 23-year-old was nothing short of spectacular against the Eastern Conference contenders and was all over Miami's huge 109-107 win at home. Yes, Adebayo did write the headlines on Sunday night with a clutch game-winner at the buzzer but amazingly, that wasn't his best highlight from the win.

Bam's DNA was all over the Heat's stifling defense and the results were clear as day. According to ESPN Stats & Info, the former NBA All-Defensive Team member held the Nets to 3-of-17 shooting as the primary defender. In addition, he locked down Kyrie Irving as the Nets point guard missed all his eight shot attempts when Adebayo was checking him for the Heat.

The former All-Star for the Heat had a stat line that fit his gargantuan evening. Adebayo finished with 21 points, 15 boards, five assists, and a couple of steals. Plus, his defensive presence was key all evening and had contributions for Miami that you won't even see on the box score.

That being said, Adebayo's last-second shot deserves its own spotlight. The big man went on iso mode on the Heat's final possession and took advantage of Jeff Green's one-on-one coverage. With under five seconds to go, Bam went strong to the hoop and pulled up for a step-back jumper to crush the hearts of the entire city of New York, well half of it, at least. The borough of Brooklyn certainly could not have liked what transpired on Sunday afternoon.

Aside from this game-winner being his first buzzer-beater in Adebayo's career, it was also the Heat's first game-winning buzzer-beater since Dwyane Wade hit one back on February 27, 2019 (via ESPN Stats & Info).

Adebayo owned Sunday, and the Heat bounced back from a bad loss on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
