Justise Winslow's tenure with the Miami Heat ended last week when the South Beach franchise traded the lefty to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the Andre Iguodala trade.

Winslow, according to a Heat official who spoke with Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, wanted to be one of the main faces of the franchise. However, he became more of a role player, especially following the team's acquisition of Jimmy Butler in the past summer.

One Heat official, looking back at Winslow’s time in Miami, said Winslow wanted to be one of the main faces of the franchise – cast in a more prominent role – and that likely wasn’t going to be happen here with Jimmy Butler.

One Heat person said Winslow didn’t attend quite as many voluntary offseason session last summer as the previous offseason. And there was some frustration internally about time missed with the mysterious back injury.

Winslow only appeared in 11 games for the Heat this season because of injuries. The youngster averaged 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 38.8 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Heat drafted Winslow with the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Duke. He has career averages of 9.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists with the Heat.

Miami now has three elite defenders in Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Iguodala, while Justise Winslow gets a fresh start in Memphis.

The Heat are legit title contenders with Butler and Adebayo leading the way. Now with Iggy and Jae Crowder in the fold, Miami may just become the best defensive team in the NBA by season's end.

Pat Riley is a Hall of Famer for a reason. He got Butler in the summer when no one saw that coming and did the same with Iguodala.
