South Beach loves Dwyane Wade.

Any why wouldn’t they? The All-Star shooting guard has been a member of the Heat his entire career and helped bring three championships to Miami.

Wade has already stated that he’s not worried about his contract, which comes to an end this summer. Now Pat Riley has echoed those statements.

“He wants to win, I think, as much as he wants to do anything,” Riley told Dave George of the Palm Beach Post. “Compensation to a player is not just a way to get paid and to live your life. Compensation to a player is about recognition and respect and place.

“We know where he belongs… he's a lifer. What he's done in this city over the last 13 years is irreplaceable and so we're going to do the right thing. There's no doubt.”

At 34 years old, D-Wade will be entering his 14th year in the league next season and has been an All-Star every year since except his rookie year. He experienced the lowest usage of his career this season averaging 19 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds across 30.5 minutes in 74 games.

He has also stated that he has no interested in being anywhere other than Miami.

“I don't want to be on the market at all,” Wade said following the Heat's playoff exit. “I'm not curious at all. I want to get to it (with the Heat). I want to be able to sign my deal and move on and not have to deal with any rumors, any free agency, any this, any that. This is where I want to end my career. So we'll figure it out.”

Riley will have his hands full this summer as Hassan Whiteside (who Riley listed as priority #1), Luol Deng, Joe Johnson, Udonis Haslem, and Amar’e Stoudemire all become free agents. He may also possibly need to replace Chris Bosh as his future in the NBA is still in question.
