Giannis Antetokounmpo has been noticeably silent amid the Milwaukee Bucks' ugly five-game slide. Shortly after the Bucks came out as losers once more against the Toronto Raptors, 110-96 at Fiserv Forum on Thursday, the two-time reigning NBA MVP broke his silence and addressed his team's woes.

In a lengthy statement posted by Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Giannis clarified that his being hush about the matter is not for the lack of caring. But rather, it's a testament to his growth as a person and as a teammate. While obviously disappointed with the Bucks' terrible performances as of late, Giannis claimed that he will continue carrying an upbeat attitude in the coming games.

While Giannis and the Bucks have enjoyed regular season success over the two previous seasons, the do-it-all forward has also not been shy about calling out his teammates during tough losses. Turns out, that's the old Giannis. Now older and wiser, the 26-year-old megastar understands that there's plenty of games left and there's no point in further demoralizing his team's morale with a crazy rant.

Against the Raptors, Giannis put up 23 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in 37 minutes. His calm approach during the whole ordeal is admirable, but it's pretty clear that the Bucks need to play with a certain sense of urgency. This marks the first time under coach Mike Budenholzer that the Bucks have lost five consecutive games.

Sure, adversity is always a good thing for teams since it builds character. But we'll have to wait and see if Giannis Antetokounmpo's lax approach can pay dividends for the Bucks soon.
