Ailing Milwaukee Bucks superstar just asked to be taken out of Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns just three minutes into the game. The two-time MVP has been dealing with a hyperextended left knee he suffered during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks.

Check out the MVP take a quick breather in Game 3:

Giannis usually sits out a couple of minutes in the opening quarter, so that's not really new. But, on Sunday, he did ask to be subbed out a little earlier than usual plus the fact that he grimaced right before being subbed out was a bit concerning.

The 26-year-old's health has been the main headline for the Bucks for the past couple of weeks now. After hurting his knee in Game 4 against the Hawks in the ECF, Antetokounmpo hasn't been at a 100%. But, being the warrior that he is, Giannis has been shrugging off all the pain and has been battling for the Bucks in these Finals.

Injured knee and all, Giannis' first two NBA Finals appearances have been absolutely magnificent. He's been averaging 31 points per game on a 63.6% shooting with 14.5 boards per game.

Giannis did head back to the floor so it seems that he did just need a quick breather. His aggressiveness in the opening quarter of a pivotal Game 3 has been a positive sign and Bucks fans are hoping that he can continue with this pace as they try to make the most of their home crowd and get one back to cut the series deficit to 2-1.
