Over a year after the league was shut down due to COVID-19, the virus continues to linger and Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday became one of its casualties as of late. His recent contraction of the virus ruled him out of 10 games and forced him to notch just four points in his first game back in a win against the Los Angeles Clippers back on Feb. 28.
After recording his fewest points in a game in more than four years, Holiday admitted that his health condition hugely affected his performance on the floor, per ESPN‘s Eric Woodyard.
“I FELT LIKE I was a step slow,” Jrue Holiday said.
Nonetheless, the 30-year-old Bucks playmaker still believes that his absence turned out to be a blessing in disguise for his other teammates. In addition, the team's depth was also tested as they went to several consecutive contests without their starting point guard.

After going through a two-week quarantine period, Holiday couldn't imagine how he still contracted the virus even after following all the league's health and safety protocols. However, the Bucks star remains grateful that he has already recovered and none of his teammates were infected with the virus.
“Don't know how. Don't know where. Just thankful that nobody else got it on the team,” Holiday said. “My family was safe and nobody got it. I quarantined by myself for like 11 days or something. So I had symptoms and it wasn't fun, but I'm glad that everybody's OK and I'm OK now.”
It will definitely take some more games in order for Jrue Holiday to get back to his playing form. However, the Bucks are certainly happy to have him back on their corner as they brace for a tough grind heading to the second half of the season.
