The NBA Finals hasn't been in lacking in stellar individual performances. In Game 4 on Wednesday, Khris Middleton and Devin Booker both showed up to the match with one thing in mind: Get buckets.

Middleton and Booker had a memorable scoring duel as the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns battled back and forth, with the lead exchanging hands several times throughout the contest.

When the smoke cleared, the Bucks escaped with the tight win to even up the series at 2-2. Middleton took the scoring cudgels from Giannis Antetokounmpo, finishing with 40 points on 15-of-33 shooting from the field. Booker, meanwhile, ended up with 42 points on 17-of-28 field goal marksmanship.

According to Reddit, the 40-point mano y mano of Middleton and Booker is the first in the NBA Finals since 2001 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers.

In Game 1, Allen Iverson exploded for 48 points for the Sixers on a whopping 41 attempts, making 18 of them, while Shaquille O'Neal had 44 points on 17-of-28 shooting from the floor for the Lakers. The Purple & Gold had no answer for Iverson, who also had five rebounds, six assists, and five steals, as the Sixers scored the upset win.

Middleton and Booker might remember that game well since they're both big fans of Kobe Bryant. In fact, both of them have worn Kobe's shoes throughout the NBA Playoffs, and clearly, the Mamba Mentality is within them.

Khris Middleton has been chided for his lack of consistency. But in Game 4, he showed he can close out games for the Bucks. Now, it's Devin Booker's turn to retaliate.
