The Utah Jazz traded Kyle Korver to the Memphis Grizzlies this summer in the blockbuster Mike Conley trade, a move the now Milwaukee Bucks guard was “caught off-guard” by.

The Jazz acquired Korver last season from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The sharpshooter thought his second stint in Utah was going to last longer than it did:

The Grizzlies traded Korver to the Phoenix Suns, who waived him. The veteran guard then signed with the Bucks.

In seven games this season for the Bucks, Korver is averaging 8.6 points and 1.7 rebounds. He's shooting 46.5 percent from the field, 48.6 percent from beyond the arc and 60.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Jazz probably would have loved to keep Korver, but they had to acquire Conley, as Ricky Rubio wasn't going to move the needle for them, especially come playoff time.

Korver has been in the NBA since 2003. He knows the nature of this business. However, even veterans like Korver can be surprised by trades.

The Bucks are 6-2 on the season, good for second place in the Eastern Conference standings. Milwaukee is coming off a road win against the Los Angeles Clippers. Korver scored 14 points in that game in 15 minutes. He shot 55.6 percent overall and 57.1 percent from 3.
