Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns didn't seem bothered with how the Los Angeles Clippers guarded him in Tuesday's playoff matchup. Despite scoring just 11 points on 3/11 shooting, the Timberwolves were able to escape with a victory, locking themselves into the playoffs. Towns was also in foul trouble throughout the night, eventually fouling out halfway through the fourth quarter.

It was one of the worst performances of the season for Towns, who has otherwise been excellent. It was his second-lowest scoring game of the season, just behind his eight-point performance against the Clippers back in November. Additionally, he had just five rebounds and three assists, as the foul trouble certainly affected his rhythm.

While he seemingly shrugged off how things went down, it's clear the Clippers defense have figured out how to defend him. Rather than placing their center, Ivica Zubac, on Towns, they employed a strategy that's been used by a few teams. The Clippers put forward Nicolas Batum on Towns, while Zubac guarded Jarred Vanderbilt and helped Batum in the process.

That shouldn't matter too much though, as they're unlikely to face off again this season, unless each of them make it to the Western Conference Finals. With the Timberwolves facing the Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs, it'll be interesting to see how Memphis game plans for him. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jonas Valanciunas are both formidable options to slow down the All-Star center.

In four matchups with the second-seed Grizzles this season, Towns has averaged 23.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest. Regardless, the big fella seems unfazed by any physical defense that may come his way.
