Kevin Garnett’s future is slowly unraveling before our eyes.
After much speculation over the past few weeks regarding his status for next season, the former MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and NBA champion appears to be on his way out of Minnesota.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, Garnett and the Timberwolves are working on a buyout.

The belief in Minneapolis, sources told ESPN.com, is that Garnett, at age 40, will opt for retirement after 21 seasons in the NBA.
If things pan out as expected, Garnett will be joining his contemporaries, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan, in retirement and a Hall of Fame induction in the near future.
Drafted fifth overall in 1995, the 6-foot-11 power forward, and former champion with the Boston Celtics, holds career averages of 17.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game. But his other significant contribution in providing intangibles and veteran leadership will be sorely missed as well.
Garnett leaves the team at the hands of last year’s rookie phenom, Karl-Anthony Towns whom he took under his wing.
