Taj Gibson may have a new team in the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he will not be able to drive around Minneapolis, at least anytime soon.
After he was caught making an illegal U-turn in New York City last week, the veteran power forward recently revealed during his introductory press conference, via Jace Frederick of the Twin Cities Pioneer Press, that his driver’s license has been suspended following a couple of minor offenses he's committed.
“A window-tinting ticket just didn’t get paid on time. One or two steps to the DMV and my license was renewed. It was one of those bad situations that I’m disappointed in, but I just learn from it and I’ve got to move forward it.”
“Prior to that, I got pulled over and they let me go. Everything works itself out. I have to take it, learn from it and just be blessed about the situation and knowing that I’ll move forward. I was just disappointed because that’s not the kind of guy I am. I do everything the right way and that has been my stamp for many years.”
Gibson then shared how he feels about the situation, especially with a lot of kids in his neighborhood looking up to him.

“It was one of those situations that I thought never would happen to me,” Gibson said. “I’m a stand-up guy. I do everything the right way, a community kind of guy.”
Gibson, as well as the entire Wolves organization, are hoping that the situation he’s in can soon be fixed. They want his full, undivided attention on playing, as the Wolves plan to make a big splash this coming season.
He will be relied upon heavily by head coach Tom Thibodeau to support Karl-Anthony Towns in adding depth to their frontcourt rotation.
