Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is not one bit bothered by the pre-playoffs predictions favoring the Memphis Grizzlies to go past them in the first round. After all, he knows how many people are surprised they are even in the postseason.

Despite those talks, though, Edwards assured one thing: they are going to fight no matter how many doubters they have.

“Nah, we don’t care about the predictions because we weren’t supposed to be here. They got the right pick. They’re picking Memphis,” Edwards told Yahoo Sports when asked about the predictions that the Grizzlies are moving on to the second round. “We’re just going to go to battle, man. We don’t care what they say. We’re going to go out there with our 15 versus their 15, our head coach versus their head coach and see who comes out on top.”

The Timberwolves are one of the best storylines of the 2021-22 season after they secured their playoffs berth. As Anthony Edwards said, they were not expected to make it, especially in a conference that boasts teams like the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets and more. It's not easy to be a Top 8 team against such competition, but Minnesota accomplished that.

Edwards and co. needed the play-in tournament to secure their playoffs ticket, but they got their rightful spot when they finished seventh after taking down the Los Angeles Clippers.

Minnesota took Game 1 against the Grizzlies last Saturday, and sure enough, they'll be looking to take full control of the series when they play Game 2 on Tuesday.
