Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Jimmy Butler is not seeing any action these days because of a lower-body injury, but he is still making highlights – off the court. On Friday, Butler went at it with a fan on Twitter following an incident between his teammate and Timberwolves guard Jeff Teague and Utah Jazz court general Ricky Rubio.
While some viewed Teague’s play as dirty, Butler liked what from the Minnesota guard, while also throwing some shade at Rubio.
haven’t used Twitter in years. But yeah Jeff that’s what I like to see. Rubio getting up quick for no reason.

Butler was irked, however, when he, head coach Tom Thibodeau, and Teague were called out online by a Ricky Rubio fan, who implied that the latter better personified a Timberwolves player/figure than any of the three of them In normal instances, athletes like Butler would just ignore such comments, but not this time, as he dusted off his Twitter account and shot back at the fan.

Jimmy Butler recently went under the knife to repair a torn meniscus on his right knee, and is expected to not be back in action for a few weeks, though, Minnesota is keeping optimism that the former Marquette Golden Eagle would be ready to go in the playoffs.
The Timberwolves would go on to lose to the Jazz, 116-108, which was their second defeat in a row. The team will now have a long rest before resuming action next Thursday, when they play hosts to the Boston Celtics and against the Golden State Warriors the following day.
Before being taken out by the injury, Butler was averaging 22.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
