The NCAA men's basketball season kicks off Tuesday night with a premier matchup between Duke and Kentucky. The two teams are loaded with talent and fans from far and wide will come to see the battle of the behemoths. Thanks to Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jimmy Butler, teammate Tyus Jones got to be in the crowd.
Jones' younger brother Tre is the starting point guard for Duke and will be making his collegiate debut. As an older brother, this was a moment Tyus didn't want to miss, but he couldn't catch a flight. According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, this is when Jimmy Buckets came to the rescue.
UK v. Duke in Indy tonight. Tyus was looking for a flight from LA to see his brother Tre's first game. Couldn't get one to work. Jimmy Butler heard him and chartered a private jet for the two of them.

Unfortunately, Butler wasn't able to make the game himself, but this didn't stop him from lending his private jet out.

Butler ended up not being able to make the trip. Let Tyus Jones take the plane himself. So Tyus is there for the big night and will be back in plenty of time for the Lakers game tomorrow night.

This was a stand-up move by Jimmy Butler to help out his teammate in a rough spot. Also, this is especially eye-opening considering Butler's current situation with the Timberwolves.
The drama between Butler and the Timberwolves this season has been well documented. Butler demanded a trade at the start of the season but no deal has been reached. Most recently, Butler has been sitting out of games because of “general soreness”, which has raised the ire of Timberwolves fans who are itching to see one of their star players suit up consistently.
This has raised questions of Jimmy Butler's character and the effect that he has on a locker room. This interaction shows that Butler is definitely not a bad dude and will come through for his teammates when it matters.
